Many of you have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for my new CD. No, no, it’s not yet ready to be released. But, I am able to give to you a sneak peek at one of the unfinished tracks, as well as a couple of “blasts from the past”:
I'm a huge fan of the movie "The Godfather," and the first song became most famous when it was recorded by Mr. Andy Williams. I have been blessed to get to know Mr. Williams from my time in Branson. I hope my version of this song makes him proud. It’s called: "Speak Softly Love". http://www.darrenromeo.com/songs/SpeakSoftlyLove.mp3
Let’s flashback and reminisce a bit to my first CD, which is out of print and most of you probably haven’t heard. From my days at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas, I heard some songs on it that made me smile. One is a medley from “The Fantasticks,” the Off-Broadway show I starred in as a kid. I recently returned to see the production in New York City. It charmed me and was a great thing to see around the holidays. The second song I gift to you here is an old recording from my first CD: "The Fantasticks Medley". http://www.darrenromeo.com/songs/Fantasticks.mp3
Finally, from the same CD, is a song I wrote called "I Want to". I'm trying to find a new arrangement of this song to release on the next CD. Even though the production quality is dated, I'm proud of the melody and the lyrics. I'm trying to re-record this for the new CD. But for now, I hope you enjoy the old recording. Song #3 is: "I Want to". http://www.darrenromeo.com/songs/i_want_to.mp3
